Workspaces & Templates in Tradovate
How to save your chart layouts, DOM setup, indicators, and drawing tools so your setup loads perfectly every time.
Why Workspaces Matter
Tradovate does NOT automatically preserve everything unless you save a workspace. If you don’t save correctly, you’ll lose:
- Chart layout
- Indicators
- DOM settings
- Drawing tools and markup
- Window positions
Creating a New Workspace
- Click the **Tradovate logo** (top-left).
- Select Workspaces.
- Click Create Workspace.
- Name it something simple like
main-layout.
Saving Your Workspace
After making ANY changes to charts, DOM, indicators, or layouts:
- Click Tradovate logo → Workspaces.
- Click Save.
If you regularly re-draw levels or switch timeframes, save often.
Loading a Workspace
- Tradovate logo → Workspaces.
- Select the workspace you want.
- Click Load.
Saving Chart Templates
Templates save indicator settings and chart appearance (but NOT DOM or window layout). To save a template:
- Open the chart menu (three dots on the chart).
- Select Templates → Save Template.
- Name it:
clean-chartor similar.
Loading Chart Templates
- Chart menu → Templates.
- Select your saved template.
Saving Chart Drawing Tools
Your trendlines, zones, and S/R levels are saved inside the workspace, NOT the template. That ties into:
Backing Up Your Workspace
Tradovate syncs workspaces to your cloud account, but you can also:
- Duplicate the workspace inside Tradovate
- Create backups before big changes
