How to Set Price Alerts in Tradovate

Quick and clean way to set price alerts so Tradovate notifies you when your level gets hit.

Why Price Alerts Matter

You shouldn’t be glued to the chart waiting for your level to hit. Price alerts let you:

  • Walk away without missing trades
  • Prep entries before price arrives
  • Avoid staring at chop all day
  • Catch your pre-marked levels from Market Structure Basics

Where Alerts Are in Tradovate

Tradovate has two ways to set alerts:

  • From the chart
  • From the price ladder (DOM)

Setting Alerts From the Chart

  1. Right-click on the chart at the price level you care about.
  2. Select Add Alert.
  3. Choose the condition (Price Crosses, Price Touches, etc.).
  4. Set the exact price level.
  5. Choose alert type (sound, popup, or both).
  6. Click Create.

Setting Alerts From the DOM

If you trade from the ladder like in DOM Trading Basics , you can place alerts directly on the price column.

  1. Right-click a specific price level on the DOM.
  2. Select Add Alert.
  3. Set your conditions the same way as the chart.

Managing Existing Alerts

Alerts in Tradovate don’t show up in a big obvious menu, which is why people think they “disappear.” Here’s where they actually are:

  • Click the bell icon on the left sidebar.
  • Open Alerts.
  • See all active, triggered, and expired alerts.
  • Right-click any alert to edit or delete it.

Best Practices

Stick to alerts that matter and tie them to your plan, not random noise. You already know this if you read:
